Critical Incidents and Working individually with PTSD

Fully trained and experienced in working with PTSD, I accept referrals from the major UK Insurance Companies, GP's, EAP'S, and Private Individuals

Following NICE Guidelines:

'For individuals who have experienced a traumatic event, the systematic provision to that individual alone of brief, single-session interventions (often referred to as debriefing) that focus on the traumatic incident, should not be routine practice when delivering services.

Instead, the guidelines recommend the application of 'Psychological First Aid', a model that reflects the emerging science and international consensus on how to support people in the immediate aftermath of extremely stressful events.

All people with PTSD should be offered a course of trauma-focused psychological treatment (trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy [CBT] or eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing [EMDR]). These treatments should normally be provided on an individual outpatient basis.'

I am an Advanced Practitioner of EMDR I also accept work from individual companies and organisations who require a suitably trained and experienced Trauma Responder either on-site following a critical incident in the workplace, or because they are concerned regarding an individual staff member.
